Transparent Probation UK is an independent awareness and advocacy campaign focused on transparency, accountability, mental health, rehabilitation and fair decision-making within probation and post-release systems across England and Wales.
The campaign was created to encourage constructive public discussion around how probation practices, licence conditions and rehabilitation-focused approaches can impact individuals, families and communities.

The campaign gathers lived experience, public opinion, research and community perspectives to better understand how probation systems affect rehabilitation outcomes, education, employment, family relationships and long-term reintegration into society.
We believe public protection and rehabilitation should work together - not against each other.
Our Story
Transparent Probation UK was founded following personal experience of the probation and post-release system, alongside growing concerns about wider issues surrounding transparency, communication, rehabilitation and mental health support.
The campaign was created not to target individuals, but to encourage constructive discussion around how systems and policies operate in practice and how outcomes could be improved for both rehabilitation and public safety.
The founder is currently involved in ongoing legal proceedings relating to probation and post-release decision making. As proceedings remain active, the campaign does not comment on the merits of individual cases and instead focuses on broader systemic issues, lived experience, public engagement and evidence-based discussion.
Transparent Probation UK aims to provide a professional and balanced platform for:
